Movie Critique: Remember Me Written by Allen Coulter

Many shot techniques were used in making this movie. One of his most dynamic shots is the use of an extreme wide angle. Some of the other shots Coulter uses in the movie are low angel, close-up, two person, over the shoulder and a set of window shots. Some window shots are from the outside looking in and others are the inside looking out. Coulter often uses the rules of threes; with characters and occurrences of events.

I watched this movie twice and found significant details that I missed. One thing I noticed is that the movie ended with the same scene as the movie started but with different context. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone over the age of 13. My children actually sat through the movie after missing the first half hour. After the movie was over they had me go back and so they could watch the beginning. They are 11 and 12 years old.

Intelligence Reframed by Howard Gardner (Summary)

I have found a wonderful web site that breaks down Howard Gardner's original seven intelligences.  Click here to view the site.  The web site features a Dr. Thomas Armstrong, Ph. D.  a author (14 books) and public speaker.  I have listed the seven definitions below.
  • Linguistic intelligence ("word smart")
  • Logical-mathematical intelligence ("number/reasoning smart")
  • Spatial intelligence ("picture smart")
  • Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence ("body smart")
  • Musical intelligence ("music smart")
  • Interpersonal intelligence ("people smart")
  • Intrapersonal intelligence ("self smart")
  • Naturalist intelligence ("nature smart")

Exploring Visual Storytelling Chapters 3 & 4

Chapters 3 and 4 spent a lot of time forming the definition of characters and there importance.  One of the main viewpoints would be that without a main character you would not have a story.

Visual Storytelling Chapters 3 & 4 (Summary Video)

Like software video making has it's transitional phases.  Right now we are moving from a analog world to a digital environment.  With both types of camera equipment being used you may find yourself with editing dilemmas especially when trying to edit both formats into the same production.

The "Move" video uses a cinematic technique called Cliaroscuro.  This technique  uses dark back lighting to make bold contrasts affecting the composition.

Poetry in Motion Project

I don't know why the video did not fill the place holder.   I guess I still have a lot to learn about using iMovie.  When I run the file using the QuickTime Player it fills the entire place holder.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

I had a lot of fun building the structure of the movie and applying the music to the final product.  I did notice that the quality of the file is lost when compressed for web use.
